The Craigellachie distillery, located in Abelour, Banffshire in the Speyside region, was built in 1891, and is today owned by Dewar & Sons, which is in turn a subsidiary of Bacardi. During its history, the distillery has released only a handful of official bottlings with the distillery's product primarily used for Dewar's blended whisky. Craigellachie uses traditional equipment, including an unusually large worm tub (depicted prominently on its cartons) which gives its whiskies a meaty, savory element.

The Craigellachie 24-years-old (1992-2017) from the Exceptional Cask series is limited to only 1,212 bottles globally, and is a combination of extremely rare and ultra-premium aged whisky from 5 ex-sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered and free of coloring. The whisky carries notes of creamy vanilla, syrupy pineapple chunks, roasted rosemary and sweet almonds, along with superb mouthfeel and a long finish.
